Memories of Claybrooke

This page is very much under construction - hopefully it always will be. The following photographs of Claybrooke and its people were provided by Paul Smith and Nicholas Jenkins. I don't have a lot of information about these photos so if you can help, please do! I've numbered them so that you can reference any pictures in emails. Click on an image for a larger view.

Downes family came from Ireland and lived in Ullesthorpe Manor Rd where
they started milk round. They then moved to Claybrooke Parva where they
lived in a double decker bus parked at Claybrooke House. This is Mrs
Dorcas Downes' milk float. Date probably 1950's. Elizabeth Downes
(daughter) taught at Claybrooke School. Family moved to Dunton Bassett,
where Elizabeth now lives.
