Downes family came from Ireland and lived in Ullesthorpe Manor Rd where they started milk round. They then moved to Claybrooke Parva where they lived in a double decker bus parked at Claybrooke House. This is Mrs Dorcas Downes' milk float. Date probably 1950's. Elizabeth Downes (daughter) taught at Claybrooke School. Family moved to Dunton Bassett, where Elizabeth now lives. |
