Village Hall Newsletter UpdateDear Friend of Claybrooke Village Hall We have certainly got 2010 off to a great start. Despite snow on the ground in February the village hall was packed with on enthusiastic audience for the visit of Jan Primaka and his beautiful birds of prey. Jan enthralled everyone, especially the children, with his descriptions of the birds and their amazing hunting skills. A long queue formed after the talk for a hands on experience of wearing the falconer’s glove to hold the Barn owl. We shut out the march winds and enjoyed a joyful evening with Tom McConville and his Trio on Friday 5th. Tom's lovely voice and amazing fiddle playing had everyone toe tapping, handclapping and singing along. Constant calls for encore from the delighted audience were a huge testimony for the pleasure given by the trio during the evening. We took the opportunity of the March concert to conduct the final 100 – club draw of this season and the trio of Rona Caley, Sue Dewes and Kim Sumner were the lucky winners on this occasion. Now to the detailed news that I promised in the last newsletter of our forthcoming concerts. Friday APRIL 16th sees the return of the incomparable REG MEUROSS to our village hall stage. Reg has proved to be very popular with our audiences on his previous visits and for this concert brings on exciting new programme built around o completely new and recently released c.d. Bethany is a wonderful musician playing several instruments and on this tour she plays cello and ukulele to complement Reg's beautiful tenor voice.
