Allotments
Claybrooke Magna has a number of allotments which are proving popular with local people. Recent improvements to the facilities have created a strong demand for new allotments. If you are interested in applying for an allotment please contact: Mrs
S Whittington Clerk of the Claybrooke Poors Land Charity Email: whittington1970@waitrose.com Minutes from the AGM CLAYBROOKE POORS LAND CHARITY ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING HELD AT MAIN STREET, CLAYBROOKE MAGNA ON 18 JANUARY 2011 Summary of Minutes Those present- Mr R Deacon (Chairman), Mr T Dawes, Mr R Whittington, Mr J Petch and Mrs S Whittington (Clerk) Apologies -Rev. Carol Brennand Minutes of the last AGM The minutes of the last AGM (25 March 2010) were signed and accepted as a true and correct record. Proposed by MrDawes & seconded by Mr Deacon. Chairman’s Report The car park and extended water supply are now complete and everyone is extremely happy with the improvements. The car park can accommodate approx. 10 vehicles. New water pipes have still to be lagged and this will be done as soon as possible. It was agreed that the water supply will be turned on at the mains at the start of BST and off at the end of BST each year. Anyone requiring water when it is switched off can turn it on at the mains, but will be responsible for turning it off after use. Treasurers Report Deposit Account The balance of this account at 31 December 2010 is £1184.61. Since 1 January, payments in have been £87 of the allotment rents, £630 farmers rent and £3.38 bank interest. Current Account The balance of the account at 31 December 2010 is £468.85. Payments in this year have been £63 of the allotment rents, a cheque for £12 rent which was not banked in 2009, £3035 transferred from the deposit account and 1p bank interest. Payments out have been £50 for manure, £60.74 and £64.60 to STW, £2444.00 for construction of the parking area, £35.25 for gate hardware and £21.99 for the new gate padlock. (Please note that since 1 January 2011 £354.35 has been paid out for plumbing in the extension for the water supply and £24 for the hire of Claybrooke Hall for the annual dinner. The balance of the account at 18 January 2011 is £90.51.) On 5 January 2011, I received an email from Rev Carol Brennand advising that she would not be able to attend this or any future meetings and, as yet, has not been able to find anyone from the church to take her place. Election of Committee and Clerk All officers were re-elected. Future events and projects Mr Deacon suggested putting gates on the 2nd field, which is rented by the farmer. This would hopefully prevent any unauthorised parking and block access to the allotment field. He thinks that this would cost between £200 and £300. If the farmer wishes, he could provide a coded padlock for his own use. Prior to carrying out this work, Mrs Whittington will write to Mr Ball to enquire if a 15ft gate would be sufficient for his needs. Any other business None Date of next AGM – 17th January 2012, 7.30pm at Mr Deacons home.
